Note: You will see a small towel folded in the hollow of Linda's back during this video. You don't 'have' to use it!

The towel is only there to provide additional support for anyone who has suffered a back injury in the past, or has weak back and abdominal muscles. It acts as a reminder to you to remain in neutral spine (not to arch or flatten your natural curves). I recommend that you use the towel until you reach 21 repetitions. That will give you time to develop strength and flexibility with a little extra support. You can always reinstate the use of the towel later if you need it.

Instructions:

Fold the handtowel, so it fits in the hollow of your lower back, not low on your hips or high on your ribs. Ensure the thickness leaves enough space so you can still slide your fingers over the top of the towel.

Preparation

You are going to lie flat on the floor, so make sure you have a mat, carpet, or towel to lie on for comfort.

When you have finished learning Rite No 2, return to the workbook to -

Fine-tune your movements.
Find the solution to any problem or question you might be having.
Double-check you are doing them correctly on the Common Problems & Solutions Chart. You only need to check this in the very beginning, or if you have a problem.
